Prefer to wear your own standalone airbag vest under your NFmoto suit, rather than our integrated Helite system? We can build your suit with the extra room, removable protectors and stretch panels needed to fit a compatible under-suit vest. The systems below are designed to be worn underneath a race suit, not over it, so they’re the ones we can accommodate.

Worth knowing: most race suits aren’t cut with the extra room a standalone vest needs. Some manufacturers now build suits with removable back and chest protectors and additional stretch panels specifically to accommodate this — we can do the same for your NFmoto suit. If you already own one of the systems above, wear it during all your measurements and note the brand and model in your order, so we can build the fit around it. Get in touch to confirm compatibility with your specific system.
Note: some airbag vests — such as Spidi Air DPS/Neck DPS, Helite GP Air/e-GP Air, and Hit-Air VHR/MLV/MLV2/ST — are designed to be worn over a suit rather than underneath, and suits with the airbag sewn directly into the leathers (such as Dainese D-air Racing) don’t use a separate vest at all. Neither type is compatible with the under-suit accommodation described above.
The Technology
How the System Works
The Helite Race Suit Airbag system uses a CDU (Crash Detection Unit) sensor that continuously analyses your motion while riding. The moment it detects an abnormal movement consistent with a fall — at speeds above 20 km/h — it fires the e-cartridge and the airbag inflates instantly, wrapping around your spine, collarbone, and chest.
Switch On Before You Ride
Press the on/off button three times. A green flashing LED confirms the system is active. 25-hour battery — recharge weekly via standard USB.
CDU Monitors Every Movement
The Crash Detection Unit, mounted inside your suit’s speedhump, reads your motion hundreds of times per second and uses an algorithm to distinguish normal riding from a fall.
Crash Detected — Airbag Fires
When a fall is detected, the e-cartridge deploys gas into the airbag bladder in a fraction of a second — protecting your spine, collarbone, chest and upper back before impact.
Replace Cartridge & Ride Again
After inflation, deflate the airbag and replace the single-use GG 60 e-cartridge. The system is ready to ride again — the CDU sensor is designed for long-term repeated use.

What’s in the System
Three key components work together to deliver protection. Your NFmoto suit is built with the airbag socket pre-integrated during manufacture — not retrofitted.
CDU Sensor
The Crash Detection Unit is the brain of the system. It analyses your motion in real time and detects falls. Mounts inside the speedhump via velcro. Green LED = ready, orange = charge needed, red = check system.

Airbag Socket & Bladder
The airbag socket is integrated into your NFmoto suit during manufacturing. The bladder protects the full torso — spine top to bottom, collarbone, chest and shoulders. Black side faces the leather, green side faces your body.

E-Cartridge (GG 60)
A single-use pyrotechnic gas cartridge that deploys the airbag when triggered. Sold ready-to-use with cartridge pre-installed. After deployment it must be replaced with a new Helite GG 60 cartridge. Carries a 10-year warranty.

Built Around the Rider
Every detail is engineered to deliver reliable protection without interfering with your riding. CE certified under EU Regulation 2016/425 by ALIE-NORCERTIFICATION (Notified Body 2754).
CE Certified PPE
Certified under EU Regulation 2016/425. Compliant PPE containing no allergenic substances. Suitable for motorcycle race use.
Sub-100ms Deployment
Detects high-sides and most low-sides. Inflates in a fraction of a second. Active only above 20 km/h to prevent false triggers.
25-Hour Autonomy
Approximately one week of typical track use. Recharges in 3 hours via USB to any 5V charger (phone charger or USB port).
Smart Sleep Mode
Enters sleep automatically after 30 seconds without movement — preserving battery. Wakes instantly when you move. No need to switch off daily.
Full Spinal Coverage
Stabilises the body from head to lower back, reducing over-bending of the spinal column. Also protects the collarbone and chest from impact.
Reusable System
After deployment: deflate, replace the e-cartridge with a new Helite GG 60, and it’s ready again. CDU sensor and airbag bladder are designed for long-term use.

Certified for Helite Integration
NFmoto UK is an official approved manufacturer for the Helite Race Suit Airbag system (Ref. Race suit airbag E01). This means every NFmoto suit can be built from the ground up with the correct airbag socket geometry, velcro anchor points, and speedhump dimensions specified by Helite — not retrofitted after the fact.
When you order your suit with the airbag option, the integration is native to your suit’s construction. The socket sits correctly, the bladder deploys with full coverage, and the CDU installs in the hump exactly as Helite intended.
